ATTENTION SENIOR GIRLS: DO YOU QUALIFY FOR THE PEO STAR SCHOLARSHIP? A potential STAR possesses leadership qualities, is involved in extracurricular activities and volunteers in the community. Come to the Counseling Office to pick up an application! Application deadline is OCT 1st!

Are you interested in getting some practice for standardized testing like the ACT and SAT? GFC is offering the PSAT (Practice SAT) on Wednesday, October 14, at 8:00 a.m. When taken in the junior year, the PSAT also acts as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Please see Mrs. Manske in the Counseling Department to register before October 2, 2020, or until practice books and tests run out). The cost for this exam is $20. Please make checks payable to GFPS.

Student Council Meeting:
StuCo will hold its first meeting of the year next week on Wednesday after school at 1:05pm in the Auditorium. Catch up will all ongoing Central activities and meet some new people in the process. Everyone is welcome!

Weekday Morning Detention:
Morning detention will start Tuesday, September 22 and will run Tuesday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's from 7:00 am to 7:50 am. Door #1 will be opened at 6:55 am to let students in. If you arrive after 7:00 am, you will not be allowed to serve that day. You will need to pre-register in the office at least one day prior to the detention date you want to serve.

Fan Attendance:
Attention to all students that want to attend outdoor athletic contests at Cushman Field. For the foreseeable remainder of the year 70 spots are available for student fans. The same NE gate entrance will be used. Seating will be in the away, east, bleachers for soccer and endzone seating for football. Soccer will be prioritized on a first come first serve basis at the gate. For football games a google form to sign up will go out Wednesday morning the week of that home game. Seniority still applies for football sign ups if the number of students wishing to attend exceeds 70. Admission to the games will be $4.

If you would like to be involved in a student organization that incorporates the ever-changing world of healthcare HOSA is for you! HOSA will be hosting its first meeting on Monday, September 21st and Tuesday, September 22nd at 3 pm in Mrs Naastad's room 30. If you have any questions regarding HOSA please contact Mrs. Naastad.
